Have you seen travelers on social media posting photoshoot worthy shots of swinging in a swooping dress over a rice terrace? The Bali Jungle Swings have become a popular attraction, with countless tourists sharing their Bali swing photos to inspire others. There’s so much to do in Bali, but I knew I needed to try it out during my trip and see if it was worth it. Read below to learn more about what to expect during the Bali Swing experience!

Where is the Bali Swing Located?

There are several swings located around Ubud, ranging in height, and offering breathtaking views of the jungle, rice fields, and river.

  • Bali Swing: The original and largest swing park, located in Ubud, offers multiple swings with different heights, from a gentle 10 meters to an adrenaline-pumping 78 meters. The park also has nests and other unique photo spots.
  • Aloha Ubud Swing: Another favorite, offering jungle views, swings, and photogenic bird nests. This location has fewer crowds than some of the larger parks, making it ideal if you want a quieter experience.
  • Tegallalang Rice Terrace Swings: Positioned in the famous rice terrace area, these swings provide a mix of scenic beauty and cultural immersion as you swing above cascading green terraces.

Do You Need to Bring Your Own Dress for the Bali Swing?

The long, flowy dresses are an iconic highlight in the popular Bali swing photos, and many of the Bali Swings in Ubud offer dress rental as part of the entrance ticket. Our swing experience had dozens of colors and styles to choose from, and there was a staff member ready to help us get in and out of them, as well as style them in different ways. There is a small changing room, and you’ll want to wear lightweight clothes that are easy to change in and out of. I’d also recommend wearing bike shorts so you can wear them underneath the dress.

What to Expect at the Bali Swing

At the swing parks there’s usually an option for everyone, from thrill-seekers to those looking for a more relaxing glide. In addition to swings, many parks offer giant bird nests, sky beds, and other unique installations designed for one-of-a-kind photos with Bali’s beautiful jungle as a backdrop.

After getting into my dress, I waited in line to start the first round of pictures. The first photo spot is in front of a gate, and the guides use a mirror to get the reflective water look in the final photos. After the gate, we headed down towards the rice terrace to take several different Bali swing photos!

At first the swing looks a bit intimidating, but don’t worry, you’re secured into a harness so you won’t fall off! They had both individual and couple swing options, so you can take both solo and couple photos. There were a few stationary photo spots as well, featuring picturesque nests.

How to Get the Iconic Bali Swing Photos

Once you’re secured into your harness, you’ll give the staff member your phone so they can take videos and photos during your swing experience. While one person pushes the swing for you, the other plays the role of your own personal photographer, capturing every angle possible, as well as slow mo and regular speed videos. They were truly pros at taking Bali swing photos, so you don’t have to worry about how you’re going to capture the perfect shot for Instagram.

Best Time to Visit the Bali Swings

Mornings or late afternoons are the best times to visit the jungle swings, especially if you’re looking for beautiful lighting and cooler temperatures. Arriving early also helps you avoid the midday crowds, so you can enjoy the swings and take your time with photos. You’ll also want to be mindful of the season you are visiting Bali, as the rainy season, typically from November to March, may bring unpredictable weather. Summary: Is the Bali Swing Worth It?

Even though it has been popularized by social media and influencers, Bali’s jungle swings offer an unforgettable experience. They’re a great choice for solo travelers, couples, or even groups looking for something a little different. Beyond just a photo opportunity, the swings provide a chance to take in Bali’s landscape from an entirely new perspective, giving you a moment of exhilaration as you soar over the island’s lush landscape.
