Singapore Airlines is known for having one of the best business class products in the world, and it is a bucket list experience for many travelers including myself. Normally, I fly economy when I travel, but thanks to a points redemption, I was able to fly Singapore Airlines business class on my trip from the USA to Thailand for just $12! Using credit card points allowed me to book a flight that would normally cost thousands of dollars, for a fraction of the cost.
Booking Business Class With Points
Singapore Airlines is a transfer parter of Chase, so I was able to transfer points from my Chase Sapphire Reserve Card for this flight. At the time I booked, the flight cost around 100,000 points, but Singapore Airlines has recently increased the points necessary for the same route, so it now requires around 112,000 points. You can also book through Aeroplan for 89,000 points, but availability is often more limited.

Singapore Airlines Business Class Preflight Experience
The Singapore Airlines business class experience begins the moment you step into the airport. With dedicated priority check-in counters and priority boarding, the seamless elegance of the journey sets a tone of exclusivity. Business Class passengers enjoy access to premium lounges, and since Singapore Airlines is a Star Alliance member, I opted for United’s Polaris Lounge. The space was sleek, modern, and clean with plenty of seating. I received a glass of champagne and also got a few snacks from their buffet area while I waited for my flight to begin boarding.
On Board Experience + Seat Review
Business class passengers boarded first through a separate line, and after showing the flight attendant my ticket she directed to my seat. When I booked the flight, I had chosen a bulkhead seat, since these had a wider footrest and even more legroom.
The seat itself was incredible – I had my own little pod with plenty of legroom, lots of compartments for storage, and a massive seat that could lie flat into a bed! I was also given noise cancelling headphones and an amenity kit with a few toiletries, slippers, a sleep mask, earplugs, and a few other items. After settling in I was given a choice of juice, water, or sparkling wine for my pre-departure beverage, so of course I had to go with sparkling wine to take full advantage of all the perks!
Singapore Airlines Business Class Meal Service
After takeoff, the flight attendants came by to take my order for dinner. One of the highlights of the Singapore Airlines Business Class experience is the culinary journey. Renowned for its “Book the Cook” service, passengers can pre-select gourmet meals curated by international chefs. While I wasn’t able to take advantage of the Book the Cook service, I was still impressed with the traditional in flight menu and service. The wine selection was also great and I went with the flight attendant’s recommendation for a dry red wine.
After providing a warm towel, the flight attendant set my tray table with a white tablecloth and metal cutlery. A big step up from the plastic trays and forks you get in economy!
My first course was a Scottish smoked salmon appetizer. This dish was light and flavorful and I was pleased with it. The bread and butter selection was also tasty.
For my main course, I chose the braised beef short rib with cornbread and spinach. The beef was fairly tender and flavorful and paired well with the red wine the flight attendant had recommended. The cornbread was pretty good as well!
For desert, I had the berry cheesecake, one of my favorite desserts. The cheesecake was absolutely delicious and I wanted to ask for another piece!
After dinner, the flight attendant turned my seat into a full bed so I could settle in for the night. Singapore Airlines seats actually flip into a bed, so there’s an another cushion in addition to your blanket and pillow, making for a very comfortable rest. After settling under the covers, I decided to watch a movie before turning in for the night. Singapore Airlines has a wide range of entertainment options, including movies, TV shows, music, games, and more, as well as wifi service for Krisflyer members. When I woke up there was an additional meal service before landing and before I knew it we were back on the ground!
Summary Review and Rating: 9/10
Overall Singapore Airlines provided a luxurious flying experience that made a long haul flight go by quickly. The flight attendants were extremely friendly and attentive, the seat was massive and quite comfortable, and the food was tasty. Having a lie flat bed made a world of difference when it came to the amount of sleep I was able to get on the flight, and I was much better rested than normal on long haul flights. I truly felt like royalty on this flight and it felt like my vacation started at the airport instead of the destination. I would highly recommend Singapore Airlines’ business class product for international flights and I hope to fly it again once I have enough points accumulated!
