Situated on the Yucatán Peninsula, Cancun is a bustling destination known for its sunny beaches and energetic vibe. With clear blue waters and a lively atmosphere, it’s a go-to spot for those seeking relaxation and fun activities. We recently decided to spend a 4 day long weekend in Cancun for some relaxation and sun after a busy year, and after doing research on the best all-inclusives in Cancun, we decided on the Hilton Cancun All Inclusive. Continue reading below for our comprehensive Hilton Cancun All Inclusive review, which includes room ratings, food, amenities, and activities.
About the Hilton Cancun All Inclusive Resort
The Hilton Cancun All Inclusive is a fairly new resort, opening in late 2021. It is located about 15 minutes south of Cancun International Airport and south of the Hotel Zone. Nestled behind a mangrove preserve, the resort features 12 dining experiences, including 5 specialty restaurants and two pools. It also has a convention center, fitness center, and spa offerings.

How to Get to the Hilton Cancun All Inclusive Resort
The hotel offers a shuttle service between the resort and the airport, but I would recommend booking a shuttle with an external company like USA Transfers since it is often much cheaper, and the service is just as good. When I arrived at the airport and cleared immigration, I met the USA Transfers team who checked me in and called my shuttle driver who arrived in less than ten minutes. It was a seamless experience and I would recommend them to anyone needing airport transportation from Cancun.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the resort’s friendly staff who gave us chilled towels to freshen up with as well as a refreshing glass of juice. The Hilton Cancun uses wristbands instead of keycards, so you don’t have to worry about bringing your wallet with you throughout the day.

Hilton Cancun All Inclusive Review
We had originally booked a regular room, but thanks to Diamond status with Hilton, we ended up getting upgraded for free to a deluxe oceanfront suite! The room was absolutely massive and was definitely one of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in before.
The main area of the suite had a spacious living room, a dining room with a minibar that is refreshed daily, a separate powder room, and a wraparound balcony that was so big you could do cartwheels on it!
The bedroom was also huge, with double wardrobe closets and another large TV. The king bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of natural light.

The bathroom was large and had double vanities, a rainfall shower with a separate handheld shower head, and a separate water closet for the toilet.

While our bathroom had complete privacy, one thing to keep in mind is that the non-suite rooms in the resort have bathrooms that are not fully private. The walls of the non-suite bathrooms are glass, so anyone staying in the bedroom can see guests in the sink area of the bathroom. The shower and toilet are separated by a frosted door to offer some privacy, but it is not fully private. If you are traveling with a friend or family, you may want to keep this in mind.
For this reason, I would give the suite rooms a 9/10 and the non-suite rooms a 7/10.
Hilton Cancun All Inclusive Food Review
All Inclusive resorts are often hit or miss when it comes to food, especially given the sheer volume they have to produce each day for their buffets. Other reviews of this property had been pretty positive when it came to the resort food, so we were hopeful! The Hilton Cancun has 12 dining experiences, including 5 specialty restaurants: Aumu (steakhouse), Maxal (Mexican cuisine), La Luce (Italian cuisine), Sunan – (Asian buffet), Churreria (all you can eat churro and ice cream bar), and Vela (global buffet).
Our first night we ate at Aumu, the resort’s Steakhouse, which requires reservations and smart casual dress. The restaurant is beautifully designed and had a lovely ambiance. After starting with some wine, we were given a basket of bread and butter while we read over the menu. I ordered a NY Strip steak and while my boyfriend ordered the charred octopus. Overall the food was well seasoned and tasty. We then finished with a lemon tart and cheesecake for dessert, and our waiter brought us dessert cocktails as well!
Our second night we went with La Luce, the Italian restaurant, which also requires reservations. We started with the burrata, peach, and prosciutto salad while my boyfriend ordered the fried calamari. For my main dish, I ordered a braised short rib, while my boyfriend went with one of their wood-fired pizzas. Since it was my birthday, they brought me an extra dessert with a candle and two mango shots!

Maxal, the Mexican restaurant, has an outdoor section by one of the main pools and bars. We frequented it nearly every day because their tacos and tortas were just that good!

Our last night we went to both Sunan, the Asian buffet and Vela, the global buffet. For buffet food, it was actually pretty good. They even had lamb, whole fish, and other high quality meats in a special serving station of the buffet.

The resort also has several bars both at the pool and in the lobby. The drinks were well made and definitely not watered down which is always great to see at an all inclusive. While there weren’t many top shelf liquors, the selection available was still pretty decent.

Hilton Cancun All Inclusive Amenities and Activities
The resort features two pools and a kids splash pad for those traveling with families. There is not a swim up bar in the pool, but the outdoor bar is just a few steps away from the pool area so it is still easy to access during a pool day. There were also plenty of lounge chairs available at the pool, and we never worried about getting a spot, which was a welcome change from having to get up extremely early at other resorts in order to secure a chair by the pool.
While the beachfront is pretty small, the view is still great. However, there is not much space to lie directly on the beach due to the steepness of the beach area. The resort does a pretty good job at cleaning the seaweed every day as well.
Throughout the day they have various forms of entertainment at the pool, from water aerobics to live music to parties. They also have live entertainment and shows throughout the week, as well as other activities.
The resort also has a well equipped gym with plenty of cardio equipment, free weights, weight machines, and a fitness studio for group classes.

The Hilton Cancun is adjacent to its partner property, the Waldorf Astoria. Guests have access to the spa at the Waldorf and can book treatments through the front desk.
Overall the level of service at the resort was top notch. We felt pampered during our entire stay, and each member of the staff we interacted with was incredibly friendly and ready to help us with whatever we needed. The bartenders kept the drinks flowing and strong, our restaurant waiters made sure we were well attended to, and the front desk staff was always helpful as well.
Overall Hilton Cancun All Inclusive Resort Review
Overall the Hilton Cancun was a beautiful resort with excellent food compared to other all inclusive resorts. The rooms had beautiful decor and style, and the suites were absolutely incredible. However, the lack of bathroom privacy in non-suite rooms may be off putting to some guests. While the lack of a pool bar and limited beach area also may detract from some guests’ experiences, the bars that are available on property are easily accessible from different areas of the resort, and the drinks were consistently well made and not watered down. The pool area itself was also beautiful and there were plenty of chairs and umbrellas available to use. The service was also excellent and we felt pampered during our entire stay. Overall, I was very pleased with our vacation at the Hilton Cancun, and would return for another stay.
